About the Symposium
The aim of the Symposium is to present the German comprehensive and overarching approach to developing CBRN defence capabilities, but also of other European and non-European countries.
Whereas the CBW-Symposium of the Swedish FOI focuses more on the scientific approach to counter threats from chemical and biological warfare agents, the CBRN-Defence symposium in Berlin will focus on the operational approach in developing and applying CBRN-Defence Capabilities.
The Symposium will highlight the multinational environment in which German military forces are operating, and in which the development of CBRN defence capabilities are embedded, with special attention to NATO and the European Union; it will also reflect on the development of civil CBRN defence capabilities.
The entire spectrum from threat assessment through policy and concepts and finally to industrial solutions will be demonstrated. The Symposium also comprises a static display of state of the art equipment.
What you can expect from the Symposium:
Up to 1.200 guests from about 50 nations will attend the 1st International Symposium on Development of CBRN-Defence Capabilities, held in the Berlin Congress Centre on November 30th and December 1st. This high-ranking international meeting is organised by the Centre of Studies and Conferences of the German Association for Defence Technology in close cooperation with two federal Ministries, the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance, the Bundeswehr Joint Support Command and the German Army Association.
